Silly Sandcastles and the Great Gray Guest
Flops! Plop! Rosy squeezed a big lump of purple dough in her hands. The Cozy Kitchen smelled like sweet vanilla and warm sugar. Mama was busy rolling out cookie dough, but Rosy had a much bigger plan for her afternoon.
Rosy opened her Giant Sketchbook right next to the flour. With a thick purple crayon, she drew a giant circle, four stump legs, and a long wiggly nose. 'This is my new friend,' Rosy declared, tapping the paper proudly.
Suddenly, the kitchen window flew open with a soft whoosh. The drawing on the page gave a little wiggle, then a jiggle, and then it popped right out of the book! Rosy let out a giant, bubbly laugh of pure surprise.
The Elephant was real, gray, and very dusty with baking flour. It sneezed a giant puff of white powder all over the yellow walls. Rosy giggled and wiped a speck of flour off her own nose. 'Let's go to the beach!' she cheered.
Wide, warm Sparkle Beach stretched out before them, its purple-tinted sand glowing under the bright sun. The Elephant trotted happily toward the water, its big floppy ears waving like sails. Rosy ran right alongside, her bare feet sinking into the warm sand.
Rosy began to build a magnificent sandcastle. She used her purple bucket to make tall towers. The Elephant watched closely, tilting its head. With a quick scoop of its trunk, it added a giant, wet clump of sand right on top.
Splish! Splash! The Elephant sprayed a cool shower of seawater straight into the air. Rosy danced through the salty mist, her purple swimsuit sparkling. She felt so independent and strong, leading her giant new friend through the shallow waves.
Just then, a loud cheer echoed across the water. Rosy looked up and rubbed her eyes in disbelief. There was Mama, wearing her favorite sun hat, sitting comfortably right on the Elephant's back! 'Look at me, Rosy!' Mama called out.
Rosy's mouth fell open in a giant circle of wonder. Mama was usually so quiet, but now she was waving her arms and laughing like a kid. The Elephant marched proudly through the surf, giving Mama a gentle, rocking ride.
The sun began to dip low, turning the sky into a beautiful painting of orange and purple. The Elephant knelt down in the soft sand, allowing Mama to slide safely off its back. Rosy ran over and hugged Mama's warm knees.
As the stars began to twinkle, a friendly face rose slowly above the ocean. The Moon, round and glowing with a warm smile, leaned down from the sky. 'What a busy day on the beach,' The Moon whispered softly.
The Elephant let out a low, rumbling yawn that shook the sand. It was time for bed. Rosy reached up and gently patted the Elephant's soft, gray trunk. 'Thank you for playing with us,' she whispered, feeling sleepy but very happy.
With a slow, graceful step, the Elephant turned and walked back toward the pages of the Giant Sketchbook resting on the sand. It slipped inside, turning back into a beautiful purple drawing. Rosy closed the cover with a soft click.
The Starry Sky was quiet now, painted in deep blues and purples. Mama lifted Rosy up into her arms, carrying her close. The Moon watched over them, casting a gentle, protective glow over the sleepy world as they walked home.
Back in her cozy bed, Rosy looked up at Mama. She reached out her small hand, gently booping Mama's nose with a soft giggle. Mama smiled and booped her back.
