Kai and the Funny Tummy Feeling
Kai was in the playroom, driving his toy train over the blue rug. The little green engine pulled three red wagons around a pillow mountain. Turtle walked slowly beside the tracks, as if he were the train's inspector.
Then Kai felt something funny in his tummy. It was a little wiggle, and a little squeeze. Kai stopped the train. He sat very still and listened to his tummy. "Hmm," said Kai.
Kai knew what the funny feeling meant. "Turtle, I need the potty!" he said. Turtle blinked slowly, which is how turtles say, good thinking. Kai put the train down right where it was, because trains can wait.
His Own Little Green Potty Chair sat waiting at the end of the hallway. It was just Kai's size, and it was his favorite color. Mei looked up from the kitchen door and smiled. "Do you need to go, Kai?" she asked.
"Yes!" said Kai. The hallway felt very long, and his tummy felt very wiggly. He needed a fast way to get there.
